Paris, 9th
A garden hotel hiding behind a quiet façade in the 9th arrondissement. Only seventy-three rooms filled with pattern and color, a spa underneath and a rooftop on top. Close enough to the opera to walk, far enough from the crush to feel like a neighborhood.
Best for: couples who want Paris to feel residential — good bakeries, no tour groups, and all the sights a short métro ride away.

Mallorca
A nineteenth-century military fortress cut into the cliffs at the mouth of Palma Bay, its suites carved out of the ramparts. Private coves, no passing traffic, and Palma close by when you want dinner in town.
Best for: an island stay without a resort. Also a honeymoon where the hotel is the destination, with Palma close enough for dinner when you want it.
CAP ROCAT
Mexico City
Nineteen rooms across a 1940s mansion and its modern neighbor, facing Lincoln Park. No restaurant, deliberately — Pujol and Quintonil are the neighborhood. The spa makes the city disappear for an hour.
Best for: a city opening before the coast, or a long weekend that's mostly about experiencing the CDMX food scene.

A restored nineteenth-century manor above the Douro, terraced vineyards dropping away below it. A wine library with a sommelier, a serious spa, and a valley that still moves slowly.
Best for: wine country without France pricing, and anyone building Portugal around more than Lisbon.

Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Lima, with the altitude handled in the right order. An afternoon at a women’s weaving cooperative that the grandparents will talk about longer than the Incan ruins.

A small-ship Azamara voyage along the Atlantic coast, then a private villa on land. Seaside golf and private sunrise photography sessions complete the experience.
